What if your wife is your enemy? The "Hidden Half" provocatively and brilliantly explores that question, in a daring morality tale set in modern Iran. The President sends Khosro to look in on a female political prisoner awaiting execution. She is known for her involvement with militant left-wing groups that supported the 1979 Revolution, but opposed the hardcore Islamic fundamentalism that emerged in its wake. In his hotel room, Khosro opens his suitcase to discover a long letter from his wife, Fereshteh. This letter reveals that Fereshteh was a member of many of the same groups as the woman on death row.
